Kent Cricket League Premier Division title race set to go to the wire as leaders Lordswood, Bexley and Tunbridge Wells all win; Sandwich Town and Holmesdale also victorious

It remains all to play for in the Kent League Premier Division title race with two league matches to go this season.

The top three teams - frontrunners Lordswood, second-placed Bexley and Tunbridge Wells in third - won and are separated by only eight points.

Lordswood earned a 45-run win at home to Sevenoaks Vine.

Contributions by Jack Laraman (44) and Ed Taylor (43) saw them post a 50-over total of 238-9 while Sam Jones (3-34) and Andrew Reid-Dick (3-43) shone.

In reply, Scotland international Calum MacLeod claimed 3-37 in Vine’s 193-9, despite Chris Vernon’s 50 and 44 from Sevenoaks skipper Luke Schlemmer.

Lordswood finish at home to Minster next weekend and are then away to Holmesdale.

Bexley beat basement boys Blackheath by 55 runs.

George Haley’s 73 helped guide the hosts to 250-7 while Tanweer Sikandar (4-48) starred again.

Blackheath were 48-3 and, although Matthew Golding (55) and wicketkeeper Ross Richardson (36) put on 87, they were dismissed for 195 all out in the 49th over. Ahmed Jamal impressed with 5-37 from 9.3 overs.

Bexley visit Tunbridge Wells in a potentially pivotal game next weekend and end their league campaign at home to Sandwich Town.

Tunbridge Wells secured a four-wicket away win over Minster.

Half-centuries by Kai Appleby (96 off 74 balls) and skipper Ed Moore (64) got the Sheppey side to 231-8, Chris Williams (4-33) was the pick of the bowlers.

Alex Williams’ 52-ball 55 and then an unbeaten 66 by Sam Smith guided Wells across the line with a bit to spare. Moore (3-35) also starred with the ball.

After their battle against Bexley, Wells visit St Lawrence & Highland Court to conclude their campaign.
