Kell Brook brands Amir Khan 'crazy' over rematch claims and responds to Chris Eubank Jnr

Kell Brook says Amir Khan would be "crazy" to trigger a rematch clause following last month's technical knock-out win for the Sheffield-born fighter.

Bolton's Khan suffered his sixth professional career loss in the long-awaited bout, with many suggesting it would be his last outing before retirement. Since then, Brook's promoter, Ben Shalom, has said he now understands Khan is not retiring.

And speaking recently to IFL TV, he said he believes the 35-year-old will not re-enter the ring with Brook for another battle. " I think Amir’s accepted his next fight won't be Kell," he said.

"He needs to prove it wasn't about money and he was injured and all these things - he’s got a lot to prove. So if he wants to fight again, I don't think it’ll be Kell Brook.

"Because let’s be honest, as fans, it doesn't make sense right now. And it’s up to Kell what he does."

Speaking on the possibility of Khan triggering a rematch clause, Brook responded: " He must be crazy. It wasn’t like it was half-and-half neither, it was one-sided in my opinion. If he wants to do that come and see me."

When asked if he believed Khan may trigger it in the hope of a receiving step-aside fee, Brook said: " I thought that but listen, it is what it is. I’m ready, I’m a fighter and like I said, the fight’s there." There has been talk of a possible match-up with feud rival Chris Eubank Jnr after he called him out following Brook's win over Khan.

The 43-3 fighter said he has 'no message' to return to Eubank Jnr, stating: "I'm not going to give him his spotlight, I’m the man. Come and talk to us, see what we can come up with and see if we can have a dance together."
