Keinan Davis has already told potential clubs what he is looking for amid of a transfer away from Aston Villa

Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis has already decided on what he wants in his next team as speculation continues to mount about a potential summer transfer away from Villa Park.

Davis has spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan with Championship club Nottingham Forest and had been in impressive form before a hamstring injury picked up last week ultimately ended his season early. Forest boss Steve Cooper believes the striker could return for the play-offs.

The 23-year-old's development over the past few months has seen a number of clubs enquire about his availability when the transfer window opens on June 10. Villa boss Steven Gerrard has already said that Davis will cost any buying club an awful lot, saying: "Everyone wants Keinan Davis! Good players cost an awful lot of money."

And Davis has given some insight into what he is looking for in his next club. Speaking to The Beautiful Game podcast last December, Davis was asked how important it was for him to get regular game time at a time when a loan move was on the cards.

"Definitely," he said. "Obviously to look at it it looks doesn't look too good. Like the minutes I have got have been like eight minutes, nine minutes but that will total up appearances. And so obviously I know that, the coaches, everyone in football as well. But for me I'd say definitely to just play games whether it's at Villa or somewhere else. I need a good clean run of games just to experience goals and stuff like that."

Villa have spent heavily in recent transfer windows on attackers, bringing in Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings to name a few. Davis said at the end of 2021 that the additions gave him the motivation to up his game.
