Keane Barry breaks new ground with UK Open quarter-final berth
Keane Barry is through to the quarter-finals of the Cazoo UK Open after securing two wins on the second day of competition at Minehead.
The 19-year-old Meath man had won his three games relatively comfortably yesterday to get to the last-32 stage of the darts major, beating David Evans, Jeffery de Zwaan and Graham Hall.
But he needed a last-dart in hand 10-9 win over Holland's Niels Vonneveld this afternoon to book a place in the last 16.
There he faced England’s Ricky Evans and, in a fast-paced clash, beat the English man 10-5.
The draw for the quarter-finals will be made later.
