Kate Ferdinand 'crying' over stepdaughter's sweet tribute after 'lovely' response to matching snap

Kate Ferdinand said she was 'crying' as she reshared her stepdaughter's sweet tribute on social media as she marked her birthday. The former The Only Way is Essex star celebrated her 33rd birthday on Monday (June 3) and was flooded with birthday wishes, including from her family.

Kate is stepmum to her husband Rio Ferdinand's three children Lorenz, 17, Tate, 14, and Tia, 13, who he shared with his late wife Rebecca Ellison. The pair have since welcomed two children together - son Cree, aged two, and daughter Shae who was born in July last year and Kate has been open about being part of a blended family in the past.

She often shares updates on developments within her and former footballer Rio's blended family, even creating her own children's book inspired by the topic as well as hosting her own podcast, aptly titled Blended.

But it's clear they've come a long way as Kate was left in tears as Tia shared a public tribute to mark her special day at the start of the week. The teen shared a compilation of photos of the pair to her Instagram Story with Kate then covering her face as she and Rio have shieleded their children from the spotlight until they're old enough to decided for themselves.

"Happy birthday @xkateferdinand," Tia started her post. "Thank you for being the best mother figure I could ask for, I love you forever and I know my mum is proud of you," she added. Kate then reshared the post to her own Instagram Story and added with a string of crying emojis: "Now I'm crying."
