Karamoko Dembele confirms Celtic exit as Ligue 1 club announce winger's signing
Karamoko Dembele has confirmed his exit from Celtic by signing a deal with French Ligue 1 club Stade Brestois 29.
The youngster - who has represented both England and Scotland at youth level - had his first season under Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou disrupted by injury and he hardly appeared on the senior scene as Premiership glory was one. He did appear in youth team matches toward the end of the season after recovery as his contract approached its expiry date.
No news on whether he was staying or leaving Celtic had been announced but now reports that Stade Brestois 29 were in line to sign him have been proven true.
It was reported in France earlier in the day that Dembele had arrived in the country to complete the deal and the Ligue 1 club have now confirmed that he has signed permanent terms on a four-year deal with them ahead of this coming season.
Now 19, the winger's name first caught headlines by appearing for the Celtic reserves squad in his early teens against pros much older than him.
Hype has built since then and links to some of Europe's biggest clubs only added fuel to the fire over where his career could go.
In the end he could make 10 appearances at Parkhead, now looking to make his name in the senior game abroad.
