Kalvin Phillips could make Leeds transfer U-turn after comments leave Aston Villa & Man Utd on red alert
Aston Villa, Manchester United and Newcastle are all reportedly weighing up moves to sign Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips this summer.
The England international is said to have his admirers across the Premier League for his top performances at Elland Road in recent seasons. But the 26-year-old could now leave his boyhood club in the summer and will almost certainly be more attainable if the club drops out of the top-flight at the end of the season.
Leeds are currently four points outside the relegation zone with nine games left to play this season, with Everton wedged between them and 18th placed Watford. Though, Phillips' future at the club is likely to come into question whether Jesse Marsch's side remain in the Premier League or not.
Phillips has previously claimed he would like to play European football and in the "games that mean something", without just racking up appearances. As a Leeds fan he admitted back in September that he wants to dream big with his own club.
Speaking to GQ in 2021, the 25-year-old admitted: "I want to be a player that's got a lot of games to his name, but I want them to be games that mean something. And I want to play in the Europa League, the Champions League. But I want to do that, ideally with Leeds.
"And the way that we’re heading, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t," Phillips added. But after finishing 10th in their first season back in the Premier League, Leeds have struggled to live up to those heights this term.
