Justin McNulty to return as Laois manager
Justin McNulty is set for a second spell as Laois manager after being recommended for a three-year term with the O'Moore County.
He replaces Billy Sheehan who stepped down in July after two seasons in charge.
The 2002 All-Ireland winner with Armagh, as reported by RTÉ Sport on Monday, had been in discussions with the county for a return having stepped down just over a decade ago.
McNulty took the county up to Division 1 in his first year in charge in 2011 and in his last, they pushed then All-Ireland champions Donegal all the way in a round four qualifier.
It is expected that McNulty will be ratified next week with his coaching team to be confirmed at a latter date.
"An All-Ireland winner with his county, Armagh, in 2002, Justin brings a wealth of experience to the role," Laois GAA said.
"He has previously managed Laois, gaining promotion to Division 1 in 2011 and guiding them to an All-Ireland quarter final in 2012.
"Justin will work with the County Board and players’ leadership group to finalise the coaching team over the coming weeks."
