Jurors to continue deliberations in trial of ex-United star Ryan Giggs
Jurors will return to court today to resume deliberations in the trial of former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs.
Mr Giggs, 48, denies headbutting his former partner Kate Greville and behaving in a controlling or coercive manner towards her between August 2017 and November 2020.
The former Wales international has also pleaded not guilty to elbowing her sister Emma Greville. The jury of seven women and five men were sent out to deliberate at 3.43pm on Tuesday, on the 12th day of the trial.
Prosecutors allege Mr Giggs subjected her to a 'litany' of abuse, both psychological and physical, during their relationship.
Mr Giggs admitted being a 'liar' and a 'cheat' during the Manchester Crown Court trial, but denied he'd ever assaulted Ms Greville.
His barrister claimed the allegations were based on 'distortion, exaggerations and lies'.
The jury was deliberating throughout today (Wednesday) and will resume at 10.30am on Thursday.
The trial continues.
