Jurgen Klopp Is Set To Leave Liverpool Much Sooner Than You Think

Klopp's current deal expires in 2024 and by the time that rolls round, he'll have been in the Anfield dugout for nine years.

He continued: " If I have the energy level for it. I love what I do, but I said a couple of times that there must be something else out there in the world, apart from always thinking about very skilled, good-looking, fantastically nice football players!

"At the moment I am full of energy but we have to make sure that remains the case. You don’t want to be sitting around tired more often than not thinking, 'Wow, why is everyone bothered about things out there? I couldn’t care less.'"

Liverpool then set out to re-establish themselves as a consistent top four side, which they'd slipped away from in previous years.

By 2018/2019, they were ready to sustain a serious title charge which they did, losing out on the title by one point to City.

That season would bring silverware however as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to win their sixth major European honour.

It was the season after they'd secure the holy grail. A first Premier League title and first league title in general in 30 years.

"If I decide to leave in 2024, it is nothing to do with the quality of the squad: 'My God, I have to manage them' or 'Oh my God, I'd better stop managing them'. It's nothing to do with that," Klopp said.

"This club must be even better especially when I am not here any more and that's the plan, that's what we are working on. It's not so important how long I will stay, it is much more important what we do until then."

Liverpool are second in the league and six points behind City.

They're in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and last 16 of the Champions League, holding a 2-0 lead over Inter Milan heading into the second leg.
