Jurgen Klopp has already told Manchester United why Graham Potter should be their next manager

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has already told Manchester United what Graham Potter could bring to Old Trafford.

The Reds are continuing their search for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent successor ahead of Ralf Rangnick's switch to the consultancy role upon the end of his interim contract.

The Manchester Evening News understands that Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are the current frontrunners, with the club looking to secure their next head coach before the end of the season.

Recent reports have suggested that Potter is among the potential suitors to take charge of the Old Trafford hot seat with certain bookmakers pitting him as an outsider to take the reins.

But Premier League-winning coach Klopp has already told the United hierarchy what Potter could bring.

"He definitely has all you need," the Liverpool boss said in November.

"He obviously has a clear idea about football and he is doing a brilliant job. He has brought a clear identity to how he wants his teams to play. He is an innovator and is adventurous.

"He is an absolutely nice fella and his team mirrors his ability. I don’t want to talk the coach of Brighton away to some other clubs, but I think he should not worry about his future."

Since taking over at the AMEX, Potter has made the Seagulls a difficult team to face.

This season is among one of their best performances in the Premier League as they look to cement their place in the top half, bettering their best ever finish of 15th.
