Judy Murray's analysis of Andy Murray match shows how he became a tennis legend

Andy Murray is one of the greatest British tennis players to ever grace the game and his mother Judy has played a fundamental role in her son’s success.

Judy is a professional tennis coach and previously captained Britain’s Fed Cup Team between 2011 and 2016.

As well as this, Judy has long been a loyal supporter of sons Andy and fellow professional tennis star Jamie on the professional tour.

Andy is currently playing in the Qatar Open and beat Japan’s Taro Daniel in straight sets yesterday to reach the round of 16.

Murray lost to Daniel in the Australian Open earlier this year, but looked in impressive form –– dropping just four games in the match.

The LTA shared a clip of Murray on Twitter, showcasing the former world number one hitting a miraculous passing winner, following a smash-shot from Daniel.

This prompted Judy to respond to the video and explain what was particularly exceptional about Murray’s play during the rally.

The analysis goes to show why both Andy and Jamie have gone on to be such successful tennis stars.

Andy has won three-Grand slam singles titles and two Olympic gold medals, while Jamie is a two-time doubles major winner.

Aside from coaching, [Judy] Murray has also been a vocal advocate for improving women’s opportunities in tennis and says she took the Fed Cup job to raise the profile of female coaches and alleviate some of the sexism that remains in the sport.
