Judd Trump enjoys unbeaten start to season in winning Championship League snooker group, Joe Perry advances

Masters champion Judd Trump fought back from 2-0 behind to earn a 2-2 draw with world No. 66 Xu Si in reaching the last 32 of the Championship League in Leicester on Tuesday.

Trump had earlier completed 3-0 wins over former women's world champion Reanne Evans and six-time world finalist Jimmy White respectively, but required a point to top Group 2 after Xu had overcome White 3-0 before drawing 2-2 with Evans. Ad Trump hit two centuries in a productive outing at the season's first ranking event, but the highest effort of the day came from 'The Gentleman' Joe Perry, who compiled a 128 break on his way to winning Group 18 with a 3-0 win over Jamie Clarke.
