Judd Trump and Joe Perry through to Welsh Open decider

Judd Trump and Joe Perry both won final-frame deciders to reach the final of the Welsh Open at Celtic Manor.

Trump trailed 3-1 and 5-3 against Snooker Shoot-Out champion Hossein Vafaei but responded with breaks of 66 and 121 to take it to a decider.

And the world number three won the final frame to reach his first ranking final of the season.

Trump told wst.tv: "I think he will be disappointed. He was the better player and his safety was brilliant. Every time I came to the table I seemed to be in trouble and his potting was better than mine.

"I don't know how I got through that one in the end. I just saved my best until last."

Trump's close friend Jack Lisowski would have been favoured to join him in Sunday's clash for the Ray Reardon Trophy, particularly after he recovered from 3-0 and 4-2 down against Perry to level at 5-5 with a break of 123.

Perry then missed a pink to the middle pocket when on 28 in the decider, but he got a second chance and capitalised to secure a sixth ranking final of his career and the chance to add to his only ranking title, the 2015 Players Championship in Thailand.
