Journalist says Crystal Palace may have "ready-made replacement" for linked-away Eagles star

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has a ‘ready-made replacement’ for Tyrick Mitchell in Tayo Adaramola if the Eagles opt to cash-in on the left-back, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, there are question marks over whether Mitchell will still be at Selhurst Park by the time next season gets underway.

Mitchell enjoyed an international break to remember as he won his first two England caps in the friendly wins over Switzerland and Ivory Coast.

His call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad came after the 22-year-old had missed just eight minutes of the Premier League campaign.

But it appears he has not only caught the eye of the Three Lions chief as The Sun have revealed a host of Premier League clubs are monitoring Mitchell’s progress ahead of potentially making a summer move.

The report suggests Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have all taken an interest in the £15.3million-rated ace due to looking to bolster their options at left-back.

Should any of Mitchell’s suitors strengthen their interest, Palace are in a strong negotiating position as his £25,000-per-week contract does not expire until the summer of 2025.

O’Rourke understands that Palace do not necessarily need to sell one of their prised assets in a matter of months.

However, the journalist feels the emergence of Adaramola is a major positive amid interest in Mitchell.

He reckons the 18-year-old full-back’s recent rise to the senior squad could tempt the Eagles into sanctioning Mitchell’s move away from Selhurst Park.
