Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall 2: Top Rank's Todd DuBoef provides status update on rematch

Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall part II is most likely to take place in early 2023, Todd DuBoef has revealed.

The Top Rank president was asked about the possibility of a rematch between the two rivals after their first clash ended in controversial fashion five months ago.

Catterall has been consistently asking for a rematch with the unbeaten Scotsman, ever since his defeat in Glasgow in February.

Taylor narrowly outpointed Catterall to extend his unbeaten record to 19.

It was a widely contested decision, with many claiming Catterall should have clearly got the victory.

And DuBoef is confident the two will meet again, due to a willingness from all parties involved to get a deal over the line.

"Josh got married and I can say that since we did the Catterall fight, when we were here for Tyson's fight in April, he has not stopped about a rematch," he told reporters, including GiveMeSport.

"I think a lot of it is just disappointment. Disappointment in himself, disappointment that people thought a result happened that he didn't feel happen, shame, all that kind of stuff.

"So I think his marriage has happened, he's got his honeymoon, and he's given us great direction to say that's the fight I want.

"And I think not playing around, we all know he's the unified champion, we don't have to deal with this belt and that belt. If he lets them go, he lets them go, it doesn't matter.

"But that's the fight he really wants so that's the one we're going to target and hopefully it can happen [in the first quarter of 2023].

"We would look to do it in the first
