Josh Taylor sends message to 'desperate' Jack Catterall after fight controversy

Josh Taylor is targeting a rematch against Jack Catterall after the pair had a controversial fight in February, which was deemed to be a win for Taylor despite many fans suggesting that it was the wrong result.

The matter even went as far as an investigation due to its controversy, but Taylor, who is one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world according to Ring Magazine, scored the fight himself and claimed victory. Now, he is targeting a rematch with the 28-year-old Catterall, saying that he wants to stop the Chorley born fighter's 'moaning'.

In an interview with Sky Sports he said that he would be sticking at light-welterweight in order to face Catterall once more to settle the issue.

"He's coming across a little bit desperate," Taylor told Sky Sports. "I can understand where he comes from, he felt like he won the fight, I'd be disappointed as well.

"But I wouldn't be moaning and groaning the way he's going on and on, it's just ridiculous." He added. "I can understand how he's feeling, he felt like he won the fight, I felt like I did just enough to win the fight so it was a close fight, it could have gone either way, the judges gave it to me.

"The way he's acted since and the way he's coming across on social media makes me want to shut him up. It's one of the main reasons I stayed at 140 so I could get that fight."

Taylor was forced to vacate his WBA super-lightweight title due to the requirements of the governing body, now Jose Zepeda is the mandatory challenger for Taylor next up after before he targets a fight against Catterall saying that he has both opponents in his sights.

He said: "We're doing everything
