Jorge Masvidal claims he beat Nate Diaz "to within an inch of his life"

UFC star Jorge Masvidal thinks Nate Diaz was close to death in their 'BMF' title fight.

Masvidal and Diaz fought for the inaugural 'BMF' title at UFC 244 in 2019, with Masvidal being declared the winner after doctors stopped the fight due to a nasty cut on Diaz's face.

A rematch between the pair has been expected ever since, but Diaz has fought just once since the loss and is approaching the end of his UFC contract.

Masvidal is preparing to fight his longtime friend turning bitter rival Colby Covington at UFC 272 next month, but is targeting a second fight with Diaz in the future.

"That mother f***** doesn't want it, man. I almost damn near killed him, I beat him an inch within his f****** skinny life," Masvidal said during a fan Q&A.

"You saw his last fight with Leon, I was like, man, they make that mistake and put this guy in there with me again, you know? He's not trying to fight."

In his first fight for over 18 months, Diaz was outpointed by top welterweight contender Leon Edwards at UFC 263 despite a late comeback in the final round.

And Masvidal continued: "That little f****** broomstick keeps talking, you're going to have to go at some point, you know. [When] I take Colby's a** out, if I gotta wait for Usman, it could be you that gets this a**whooping, bro...

"Let's f****** go, man, I'm gonna break your f****** face, bro. It's not a call out.

"After handling business, I'm going for the title, and if I don't have time to go for the title, I'm gonna break your f****** face for all the s*** talking you've done."

Masvidal is yet to defend his symbolic 'BMF' title despite winning the belt three years ago, so a rematch against Diaz could be the perfect opportunity to put the belt on the line again.
