Jordan Henderson showed once again that he’s pure class after Liverpool won Carabao Cup

Jordan Henderson captained Liverpool to yet another trophy on Sunday.

The Reds lifted the Carabao Cup after defeating Chelsea on penalties at Wembley.

The two sides played out goalless but pulsating 120 minutes in London before the final went to penalties.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel raised eyebrows by bringing on Kepa Arrizabalaga in place of the excellent Edouard Mendy specifically for the penalty shoot-out.

But Tuchel’s plan backfired spectacularly. Kepa faced 11 penalties, failed to save any of them and then blazed the decisive spot-kick high over the crossbar, which meant Liverpool were crowned 2021-22 Carabao Cup champions.

Henderson, though, showed his class after the final whistle.

The 31-year-old, alongside fellow midfielder James Milner, was on hand to console Chelsea’s players after they collected their losers medals:
