Jordan Henderson showed his class with Mason Mount after FA Cup final
Jordan Henderson proved once again that he’s an absolute class act after Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties to win the FA Cup final on Saturday.
The Liverpool captain broke away from the celebrations to console his England teammate Mason Mount, who was devastated after missing a penalty.
Mount saw his spot-kick saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. Kostas Tsimikas then stepped up and converted past Edouard Mendy as the Reds secured their second trophy of the season.
It meant more penalty shoot-out heartache for Chelsea, who lost to the same opponents in the same manner at the end of February’s Carabao Cup final.
Missing the decisive penalty in a shoot-out is one of the worst experiences that a professional footballer can experience during their career.
Aware that Mount was suffering during one of the toughest moments of his career so far, Henderson briefly stopped celebrating in order to have a one-on-one conversation with his crestfallen England colleague.
