Jonathan Clauss' reaction to being named in France squad captured in heartwarming video
RC Lens’ Jonathan Clauss is enjoying a spectacular 2021/22 season.
The 29-year-old is of the best attack-minded defenders in the game right now and his numbers are up there with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James.
In 27 Ligue 1 appearances so far this campaign, Clauss has scored four goals and assisted a further nine.
Only Paris Saint-Germain duo Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have more assists (both 10) in the French top-flight at the time of writing.
As a result of his sparkling form, Clauss has been named in Didier Deschamps’ latest France squad for friendly matches against Ivory Coast and South Africa later this month.
