John Stones gives Erling Haaland verdict after Man City draw with Newcastle United
Manchester City defender John Stones has issued his verdict on Erling Haaland after their thrilling 3-3 draw with Newcastle United. The Blues had gotten off to the best possible start at St James' Park when Ilkay Gundogan scored from close range.
However, the hosts turned the game on its head with Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson scoring before the break. Kieran Trippier made it 3-1 with a stunning free-kick as the game looked to be beyond the Blues, but Pep Guardiola's men were not done.
Haaland made it 3-2 on the hour mark before Bernardo Silva rescued a point for City four minutes later. Speaking after the match, Stones was full of praise for City's new number nine.

He told Viaplay: "I can only liken it to when I first came. Everything is new and he is still so young.
"The way he has settled in is credit to him and he has hit the ground running. Another goal [today] and what he brings to the team, his pace, his power and he is still learning how we play, and where he needs to be, so that is massive credit to him."
Sunday's draw at St James' Park ended City's 100 per cent record at the top of the Premier League. The Blues now sit second two points behind Arsenal who have won all three of their matches so far this campaign.
