John McGinn jokes about being a 'fat Youtuber' as Aston Villa skipper answers question as only he can

John McGinn is known for his cheeky antics off the pitch just as much as his sparkling displays for club and country on it.

And in his latest joke that has sent fans on social media into barrels of laughter, the Aston Villa captain has jested that he would be a 'fat Youtuber' had his career in football not gone to plan. The Scotland star has established himself as one of the top midfield players in the Premier League and helped his side qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 41-years with a fourth place finish last season.

A hamstring injury has sidelined the 30-year-old from featuring in the last six matches for club and country, with McGinn missing out on the Villains stunning 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich and Scotland's double header against Croatia and Portugal in the Nations League. The charismatic midfield general is hoping to make his return in the next couple of games and offered up the quirk as part of a video put out by Villa's social media channel where members of the squad were asked about what other career paths they would follow had it not been for football.

McGinn quipped: "A Youtuber, and a lot fatter than I am the now." Some of the former St Mirren and Hibs aces' teammates took a slightly more serious approach to the question, with Spain defender Pau Torres reckoning he would have got into teaching while Jamaican winger Leon Bailey revealing he has a sharp mind for the real estate business.
