John Egan ruled out of Ireland's Euros double-header

John Egan is out of the Republic of Ireland's upcoming European Championship qualifies against Greece and Gibraltar.

Egan was taken off early in the second half of Sheffield United’s 2-0 loss at West Ham on Saturday with a leg injury.

The centre-half was assessed by his club, with the Blades initially hopeful the damage was not too serious. However it’s proven bad enough for Egan to be ruled out of the Aviva Stadium clash with the Greeks on Friday week and subsequent trip to Gibraltar the following Monday.

Callum O’Dowda is also definitely unavailable as he continues to recover from an adductor issue.
