John Cena, The Undertaker, Edge: WWE's 2008 roster was full of star power

The WWE roster in 2008 was, to put it quite frankly, nothing short of a work of art.

The WWE roster now is one of the best the company has ever had when it comes to in-ring talent, with the Superstars of today being able to do things in the ring that those that came before them couldn’t even dream of doing.

However, when it comes to star power, that’s a completely different story.

An image has been circulating online of the 2008 WWE roster, reminding fans of just how many top stars the company had at its disposal at the time.

As you can see from the image below, the roster was headlined by the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Edge, and that’s without including several other top names.

As noted, today’s roster may be able to do things in the ring that their 2008 counterparts couldn’t, but when it comes to star power, the 2022 roster doesn’t come close.

The roster, at the time, featured some of the biggest stars that WWE had ever had on its books, including the likes of Triple H and Ric Flair.

When it comes to star power on today’s roster, Roman Reigns is probably one of the only active stars who could undoubtedly stand in line with the 2008 roster without feeling out of place, and even he’s now a part-timer.

Of course, Brock Lesnar is right up there as one of WWE’s biggest-ever stars, but he’s also on a part-time schedule right now, just like Roman Reigns.

Other names such as Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins could be in with a shout at being able to stand alongside the 2008 names, but Reigns and Brock are the only ones who will be universally agreed upon.
