Joelinton's impressive impact gives Newcastle boss Eddie Howe a Bruno Guimaraes selection dilemma

Eddie Howe's impact on Newcastle United has been nothing short of superb and he has steered the club from second bottom to four points clear of the relegation zone.

The Magpies secured their third successive win on Sunday with a 1-0 success over Aston Villa on Sunday after Kieran Trippier scored the only goal of the game at St James' Park.

This followed back-to-back victories against Leeds United and Everton and the Magpies are looking in a much better position compared to when Howe was appointed as the club's manager in November.

He has made a number of notable changes to the side - one of which has included moving Joelinton into a more deeper position - rather than as a central striker.

It's proved to be remarkable move and the Brazil international has turned into one of the Magpies' most important players with his pressing and energy in the middle of the park.

Howe, who replaced Steve Bruce in charge on Tyneside, has chosen to use Joelinton in a midfield two alongside Jonjo Shelvey, with Joe Willock often more advanced.

The trio have been integral to the Magpies' up turn in form in recent weeks and Joelinton has been key to holding the midfield together while also winning Man of the Match in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

However, Bruno Guimaraes' arrival has given Howe a huge dilemma ahead of the run-in and there has been some questions raised about who he would replace in the starting XI.

Guimaraes made the £33million switch from Lyon last month and has since made two substitute appearances, accumulating just 11 minutes of game time in the process.
