Jim Ratcliffe confirms Man Utd interest: What is his net worth?

It has been announced that Britain’s richest man, Jim Ratcliffe, is interested in buying Manchester United.

United fans are growing extremely tired of their current owners, the Glazer family.

And now Ratcliffe, who is a lifelong United fan, has confirmed he wants to take ownership of the club.

Ratcliffe wants to buy a stake in the club with view to taking full control if the Glazers wish to sell.

“If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer,” one of Ratcliffe’s spokespeople told The Times. “If something like this was possible, we would be interested in talking with a view to long-term ownership.

“This is not about the money that has been spent or not spent. Jim is looking at what can be done now and, knowing how important the club is to the city, it feels like the time is right for a reset.”

Ratcliffe is the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ineos chemicals group, which he founded in 1998.

According to Forbes, per the Mirror, Ratcliffe was named the 113th richest person in the world in 2021, with a net worth of £12.58 billion.

Goal journalist James Robson has revealed the Glazers would want around £6 billion to sell United. That would likely be no problem for Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe already owns a number of football clubs. In 2017, he became the owner of FC Lausanne-Sport, a Swiss Super League football club.

In 2019, he completed a €100 million takeover of Ligue 1 club OGC Nice.

He made a £4.25m bid to buy Chelsea in April 2022 but his bid was unsuccessful.

In May, Ratcliffe admitted that he was a United fan but was a season ticket holder at Chelsea.

“I have a house in Chelsea, I’ve lived in Chelsea for many years, I’ve had a season ticket for many years, I have a business that’s based in
