Jim Harbaugh Fulfills Promise, Gets 15-0 Michigan Tattoo: VIDEO

Jim Harbaugh is a man of his word.

The now-Los Angeles Chargers head coach returned to Ann Arbor on Saturday — both to pick up his National Championship rings and to make good on a promise he made months ago.

During Michigan's run in this year's College Football Playoff, Harbaugh told his players that he would get his first tattoo if they won the title.

"I'm going to put it on my shoulder," he said at the time. "I don't know if it's my left or right yet. I'm a right-handed quarterback, I'll probably get it on my right. And then an M too, an M that's maize and blue."

Well, they did win that national title. And even though he's moved on to coach in the NFL, it's time for Harbaugh to pay up.

Before Michigan's spring game, the 60-year-old got a "15-0" tattoo under an "M" on his right arm, commemorating the Wolverines' undefeated 2023-24 season.

Former Michigan cornerback Mike Sainristil, who had an 81-yard interception in the Wolverines' championship win over Washington, posted video of Harbaugh's new ink on social media.

"I'm impervious to pain," Harbaugh said while receiving the tattoo. He then joked afterward that he could "see why once you get one [tattoo], you might want to start adding to it."

The work was done by Michigan-based tattoo artist Stephen Bateman.

Harbaugh noted that the "M" represents not just Michigan but also the Roman numeral for 1,000. That number is significant to Michigan football as the Wolverines became the first college football program to win 1,000 games when they knocked off the Maryland Terrapins in Week 12 last season.
