Jet2 Allstars including Hollyoaks actors to play charity football match against Costello FC

An all-star line-up will take on Costello FC on Sunday in a charity football match in memory of a much-loved wife.

Helen Winfield sadly passed away with secondary breast cancer in 2018 at Hull's Castle Hill. She was the wife of Costello FC's chairman Andy Winfield.

East Riding County League team Costello FC will take on the Jet2 Allstars, which this year includes Hollyoaks stars Owen Warner, Jacob Roberts and Charlie Behan. It will raise money for cancer charities at Castle Hill and the club, all in the memory of Helen.

The first charity match in her honour took place in 2019 at North Ferriby United's football ground, and will take place there again this year. Former MP Alan Johnson will be this year's guest of honour, and BBC Radio Humberside's David Burns will commentate.

2019's match had a fantastic turn out of 1500 people with £7,000 raised.

Jet2 Allstars are made up of celebrities, ranging from soap stars both past and present and also some ex-footballers. They only play a handful of matches each year, so it is expected to be an exciting game.

The Costello FC team will consist of managers, volunteers and coaches and also Hull City's Keane Lewis-Potter.

Jet2 Allstars had a great lineup last year, including Lee Sharpe from Manchester United and Ryan Thomas from Coronation Street. This year, Hollyoaks actors Owen Warner, Jacob Roberts and Charlie Behan have all been confirmed to play on Sunday

Jet2 have also kindly donated two flight tickets for the raffle, a bunch of other prizes are also up for grabs, including booze baskets and a signed Keane Lewis-Potter shirt . Alongside this, refreshments will be available to purchase on the day.
