Jesse Marsch now eyeing 'powerhouse' to fix huge Leeds issue

Leeds United are still battling away to try and retain their Premier League status next season, with a trip to Selhurst Park next on the cards on Monday night.

Although what division Leeds will be playing football in next season is still unknown, the team behind the scenes, along with Jesse Marsch, will be planning for next season, with alternatives depending how the season plays out from here.

Should they stay up, MailOnline are reporting that they are one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Timo Hubers from FC Koln in the summer, with a fee of around £6 million expected to be enough to lure him away.

Pete O’Rourke has been looking at the potential deal, giving his opinion: “Jesse Marsch obviously has experience of players in the Bundesliga from his time at RB Leipzig, so he’ll be well aware of the likes of Hubers. He’s a talented young player from Koln as well, so he definitely fits the bill for Leeds United because they’ve been forced to have a bit of a makeshift central defence this season. Luke Ayling has been filling in there more than he probably expected to, so I think more options are definitely needed in defence for Leeds looking ahead to next season.”

You can’t argue with O’Rourke, it clearly looks like Leeds do need to add depth to their defensive options for next season, whether they’re in the Premier League or Championship, you can’t be leaving yourself short in key positions.
