Jesse Marsch explains major Leeds United setback ahead of Wolves clash

Leeds United suffered a major setback ahead of tonight’s game at Wolves.

The visitors to Molineux are without talented attacking midfielder Raphinha after the Brazilian tested positive for Covid-19. The 25-year-old been expected to be in the starting line-up against Bruno Lage’s side.

“He’s Covid positive,” Leeds head coach Jesse Marsch told Sky Sports before the game. “We didn’t find out about that until after our press conference yesterday.

“It’s unfortunate for him, for us right now and also for the national team, but hopefully he won’t stay positive for long.

Meanwhile, Wolves boss Lage has restored Willy Boly to the starting line-up. Lage has stuck with the 3-5-2 formation that he fielded against Everton last time out, but he has made three changes to it. The most noticeable is Boly's return at the expense of Max Kilman in defence.

Daniel Podence starts instead of Hwang Hee-chan after replacing the South Korean in the opening exchanges of Sunday’s 1-0 win over Everton. Hwang only lasted 15 minutes of the game at Goodison Park due to injury, but he has been passed fit to take his place on the bench tonight.

Rayan Ait-Nouri also returns to Wolves’ starting XI after being left out for Marcal last weekend. Ait-Nouri made his first Premier League start of the season in the 1-1 draw with Leeds at Elland Road in October.
