Jesse Lingard's brother takes swipe at Man Utd over transfer demands

Jesse Lingard 's brother has taken a swipe at Manchester United on social media over their transfer demands, with the 29-year-old keen to leave Old Trafford before deadline day.

Lingard was reportedly close to joining cash-rich Newcastle earlier this week but the deal has stalled after the Red Devils' criteria for letting the England international go became clear.

Mirror Football understands that on top of a £6million loan fee, United want the Magpies to cover Lingard's £100,000-a-week wages for the rest of the season, plus a bonus payment if they Eddie Howe 's side stay up.

But the Red Devils allowed Lingard to join West Ham on loan last January in a much less stringent manner, with the midfielder enjoying his time in London.

Lingard's brother, Louie Scott, posted on his Instagram stories in reference to anniversary of that transfer: "A year ago today we was 'allowed' out on day release. Now we know how Akon feel."

Scott added a handcuffs emoji to the picture of his brother celebrating one go his nine goals for the Hammers.

Lingard is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign, meaning United will lose him for free in June.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick recently confirmed as much to a supporter whilst signing autographs outside the stadium post-match, although understands the academy graduate's desire to play regular football.

Lingard has started just one match under Rangnick, who told reporters: "With regard to Jesse, it's the same as with quite a few other players.

"He's a really good player, I see that in every training session. For me it's normal that other clubs like, for example, Newcastle show interest in him."
