Jerome Stack steps down as St Brigid's manager after narrow All-Ireland loss to Glen

Beaten All-Ireland club football finalists St Brigid's are on the lookout for a new manager after Jerome Stack called time on his two years in charge of the Roscommon outfit.

On Sunday last, Stack watched on as Brigid's came so close to winning the Andy Merrigan Cup; a late surge from Derry's Glen eventually saw them claim a maiden title by one point.

The Listowel native, it is believed, informed St Brigid's earlier in the club campaign that he would not be seeking a third year at the helm.

The Roscommon Herald are reporting that a new manager is set to be ratified at the club's AGM on Friday evening.

Confirming Stack's departure, a statement on St Brigid's Facebook page read: "Our club senior team manager Jerome Stack has decided to step down.Jerome has been at the helm as manager for the last two years, guiding us to the All-Ireland final last Sunday.

"Jerome has brought a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience to our team which brought us on a brilliant journey this year and saw our players bring that level of performance to Croke Park last Sunday.

"We know the players will benefit greatly in the future from Jerome's time with St Brigid's and his driven and meticulous work ethic.

"St Brigid’s executive would sincerely like to thank Jerome for all his hard work, dedication and commitment to the club as manager. We would also like to extend our thanks to Jerome’s management and backroom team for their dedication over the past two years.

"Wishing Jerome, the very best of luck in his future endeavours."
