Jermaine Jenas and Danny Murphy discuss how to stop Man City

Match of the Day pundits Jermaine Jenas and Danny Murphy have discussed how teams can stop Manchester City.

The conversation came off the back of yet another dominant display from Pep Guardiola's men, this time against Norwich City.

Raheem Sterling was this week's star of the show after bagging a hat-trick at Carrow Road while Phil Foden forced the ball home to make it 2-0 at that stage.

When posed the question by host Gary Lineker on how to stop City from steamrolling opponents, the midfielders struggled to find an easy answer.

Jenas said: "I think one of the key components is that you have got to work really hard individually, like I said, Josh Sargent needs to help out Max Aarons much better (for Norwich).

"What it has made me realise is that I understand why teams play three at the back and sit very deep against City because there is an element of: 'We have just got to accept that we don't want them in this space in behind us and allow them to play in front of us' because when you do give them that space in behind that is the result."

Murphy added: "I just think you need super organisation, good quality players and no-one can have a bad day because if one player switches off in the system they find the weakness.

"They are tremendous at it."

Manchester City return to action on Tuesday when they face Sporting in the Champions League Round of 16.
