Jays placing Stripling (hip strain) on IL
The Toronto Blue Jays are placing Ross Stripling on the injured list with a right hip strain and will be calling up pitcher Matt Peacock, manager John Schneider announced Wednesday.
Schneider said the team is hopeful Stripling will only be out short-term after sustaining the injury in his most recent start against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.
