Jays' Merrifield confirms vaccination
Whit Merrifield will be playing in Canada.
The new Toronto Blue Jays infielder/outfielder confirmed on Thursday that he is vaccinated.
Merrifield, 32, was acquired from the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. He was one of 10 Royals players unable to enter Canada last month due to his vaccination status.

"I've understood for a couple of weeks now that this might be a possibility," Merrifield told reporters ahead of the team's series opener with the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis. "I'll be in Toronto when the team is there."
The Blue Jays' next home date is Aug. 12 against the Cleveland Guardians.
Merrifield is set for his Blue Jays debut on Thursday night, playing in centre field and batting eighth. Merrifield will wear the No. 1 jersey.
