Jason Quigley back to winning ways on return to Irish soil
Jason Quigley got back to winning ways as he earned a unanimous points victory over Gabor Gorbics in his first fight on Irish soil since turning professional nine years ago.
The Donegal boxer went the distance over 10 rounds with his Hungarian opponent but won every one, claiming a 100-90 decision at the National Stadium in Dublin.
Gorbics (26-36-3) was a late replacement for Czech fighter Anatoli Hunanyan, who had in turn initially stepped in last week for the injured Kim Poulsen.
Quigley, whose last fight was a defeat to Demetrius Andrade for the WBO middleweight title in November 2021, is now 20-2 since turning pro in 2014.
The last time the 31-year-old had fought on South Circular Road was all the way back in 2013 during his medal-laden amateur career.
