Jamie Lomas on baby countdown as he joins Hollyoaks co-stars at Radio Times Soap Awards

Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas has revealed he is excitedly awaiting the arrival of his new baby with partner Dr Jessica Bell - and is officially on countdown.

Jamie was among a galaxy of soap stars from Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders at the first ever Radio Times Soap Awards in Manchester on Saturday night.

But he was also on high alert from his partner Jess, who is now just two weeks away from her due date, he shared with the MEN. The couple had shared back in February the lovely news that they were expecting their first child together.

And now the due date is fast approaching, and Jamie can't wait to become a dad again with dentist Jess. The couple held their baby shower in June, and it's not long to wait now for baby's arrival.

Jamie told the MEN: "In two weeks my partner Jess is about to give birth so we're super excited. I'm always on call, but especially over these next two weeks, it's exciting."

Jamie has been enjoying plenty of drama on Hollyoaks of late as bad boy Warren Fox - with spoiler photos recently shared that appear to show he someone wants him dead. He's already been shot at in front of his partner Mercedes.

But Jamie, from Salford, is taking all the drama in his stride.

Jamie laughed: "Where do I begin? We've got a character coming called Blue and he's trying to turn Warren's world upside down and it's about to get very hairy."

But will Warren be killed off, we ask? Jamie said: "You've got to wait and see, they did put some pictures out in the paper where I was shot and there was a lot of bleeding though so he's been through it all."
