Jamie Carragher sends message to Daniel Levy and Tottenham after Luis Diaz Liverpool goal
Jamie Carragher has predicted that this could be a “special” season for Liverpool - and has thanked Tottenham Hotspur for playing their part.
Liverpool earned a 2-0 win away at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday courtesy of goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah to move within three points of league leaders Manchester City.
Salah doubled the Reds' lead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute after Diaz had bravely opened the scoring with a first-half header despite being taken out by Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

And Liverpool legend Carragher believes the decision to sanction a £49m move for Diaz from Porto in January may prove to be a pivotal moment in the story of his former club's season.
The Reds responded quickly after Tottenham made an opening bid for the Colombian winger having initially prioritised a move for the 25-year-old in the summer.
Reacting to Diaz’s display against Brighton on Twitter, Carragher thanked Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for prompting Liverpool to sign the forward.
He wrote: “Luis Diaz’s impact could turn this season into a special one for @LFC the club only signed him in January because Spurs made an offer, thanks Daniel!”
