Jake Paul basks in the glory of Devin Haney becoming undisputed champion

Boxing star Jake Paul has praised Devin Haney after he became the undisputed lightweight champion on Saturday night.

For many years Devin Haney has been pinpointed as one to watch in the world of boxing. Now, in the present day, he holds the WBC, WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles after outclassing George Kambosos Jr in an incredibly one-sided affair at Marvel Stadium in Australia.

It was a result many had predicted given the talent he’d showcased across his 27-0 record, and in his 28th bout, he arguably looked better than he ever has done before.

One man who was watching particularly closely is none other than Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ has kept a close eye on the career of Haney and previously, all the way back in November 2019, Devin even fought on the same card as Jake’s brother Logan Paul when he main evented at the Staples Center against KSI.

The Pauls aren’t exactly widespread fan favourites but they know good business when they see it, and Jake couldn’t help but praise Haney in the wake of his performance over the weekend.

As you can see, Paul was of the belief that Haney did enough to win all 12 rounds – and at the very least, won 11-1.

The judges gave Kambosos the benefit of the doubt on a few scorecards but upon watching it back, it’s hard to see a clear argument for a rematch outside of a contractual obligation.

While Haney has the likes of Teofimo Lopez and Vasiliy Lomachenko to consider in the next couple of months, it’s also not long until we see Jake Paul step back into the squared circle.
