Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne compared to Christian McCaffrey in bold claim

NFL Fantasy Football analyst Ian Hartitz believes that Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne could be set for a breakout rookie season, making a bold comparison along the way.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been in ‘rebuilding mode’ for some time now, long gone from the days of their ‘Sacksonville’ side that had them on the verge of making the Super Bowl back in the 2017 season. 

Since then they have rattled off four straight seasons with a losing record, with their last two campaigns being so bad that they finished both of them with the worst records in the league, going 1-15 in 2020 and 3-14 in 2021.

The bonus of finishing that low though allows teams to draft high, which could turn into gems of the future. In 2021 they took quarterback Trevor Lawrence and this past draft they took edge rusher Travon Walker.

One other player that they picked up in the 2021 draft, thanks to a 1st round pick they acquired from the Los Angeles Rams when they traded away Jalen Ramsey was running back Travis Etienne, teammate of Lawrence at Clemson University.

One of the most electrifying running backs coming out of college, he served as a terrific dual-threat in the offense, putting up 4,952 rushing yards and 70 touchdowns to go along with 1,155 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns, helping the Tigers become one of the premier forces in college football.
