Jack Grealish gives verdict on Pep Guardiola tactics at Man City

Manchester City ace Jack Grealish has waxed lyrical about manager Pep Guardiola's tactical nous ahead of Wednesday evening's Champions League quarter-final second-leg against Atletico Madrid.

City will arrive in the Spanish capital 1-0 up on aggregate after last week's first leg at the Etihad Stadium. Kevin De Bruyne netted the only goal of the game to ensure the Blues hold the advantage at the midway point in the tie.

Atletico — who beat Manchester United in the last round — set up with a low block at the Etihad, showing little intent of winning the game. However, City's patience proved its weight in gold as De Bruyne latched onto a clever pass from Phil Foden to seal the victory.

Although it required patience, Guardiola ensured that his side did not panic, instead ensuring that they remained focused on the task in hand. Should City prove triumphant at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium and progress to the semi-finals, it will rank as another big achievement for Guardiola as a tactician.

And if City do come out on top, it will come as little surprise to record-signing Grealish. The England international has hailed his manager for his methods, outlining how impressed he has been by the former Barcelona boss since joining the club from Aston Villa last summer.
