ITV The Voice UK’s Anne-Marie asks Tom Jones ‘are you alright?’ ahead of final

Sir Tom Jones appeared emotional and had to be comforted by singer Anne-Marie during the semi-final of The Voice UK. The four coaches - Jones, Anne-Marie, Will.i.am and Olly Murs - had to whittle down their three acts to one.

But the Welsh singer seemed to get upset as he sent home AV4C and Bianca in favour of Callum. After being pushed by host Emma Willis for an answer, Tom said on the strength of who was best on the night, 'it had to be' Callum, meaning that AV4C and Bianca missed out, WalesOnline reports.

As all three acts made their exit from the set, Anne-Marie got up to check on Tom asking him: "Are you alright?" as she went in for a hug, before, looking visibly moved, he replied: "Yeah, they were all so good."

Meanwhile Cardiff singer Jolie Stevens impressed her mentor Anne-Marie and the whole panel with her performance of What Now by Rhianna. Anne-Marie complimented the young Welsh singer for being "driven" and when it was announced that Jolie would be competing for the 2023 title, she broke down in tears.

In the semi-final 12 acts were left in the running for four spots in the grand finale. With each coach still having three acts left in the semi final, some tough decisions needed to be made, with just one allowed to be put through to the decider. The Voice UK finale will be on ITV on Saturday, December 30.
