ITV The Voice set to axe two celebrity coaches in ‘gutting’ shake-up as series returns

Two celebrity coaches on singing competition The Voice UK are claimed to have been axed from the forthcoming series.

The popular show will return to ITV for a 12th series in November with coaches will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Anne-Marie and Olly Murs. However, it is set to be the last series with two of the stars as bosses plan a shake-up of the panel.

Olly Murs announced last month that he will not be taking part in the 13th series, which will air next year. He told The Mirror: “I got the call to say I won’t be back on the show, and it’s a bit of a shock, to be honest. I didn’t expect that.”

He added: "They’ll find someone great, I’m sure. But am I going to miss it? Yeah. Did I want to leave? No. Will I still watch the show? Of course, but it’ll be sore thinking that could have been me."

It has now been claimed by The Sun that Anne-Marie, who released her third studio album Unhealthy earlier this year, will now also no longer return to the 2024 series as producers plan to revamp the line-up.

A source is said to have told the publication: “Anne-Marie has loved being part of the show but producers want to give the series a refresh. ITV wants to ensure that the show pulls in teens, so they are always looking at who is hot in the music world."
