ITV Emmerdale boss teases 'epic' 50th birthday plans as stars celebrate early with cake
Emmerdale fans are very much aware that there is a big birthday coming up and are eagerly waiting to find out what the ITV soap has got in store. Lucky for them, the soap's boss has been teasing their 'epic' plans for Emmerdale's 50th birthday in October.
Earlier this week, Emmerdale kicked off its 50th birthday celebrations with cast and producers marking the occasion with a huge cake of the Woolpack. New pictures show Fiona Wade (Priya Sharma), Chris Bisson (Jai Sharma), Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle) Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle), Zoe Henry (Rhona Goskirk), Jay Kontzle (Billy Fletcher), and Katherine Dow Blyton (Harriet Finch) all smiles as they posed with a pretty impressive cake depicting the iconic pub.
And the executive producer of Emmerdale hopes the long-running soap’s 50th anniversary month will be “a treat for loyal viewers” as the show approaches the milestone in just a couple of month's time.

The show was created by Kevin Laffan and was titled Emmerdale Farm when it was first broadcast in October 1972. And Jane Hudson said it had been an "honour" to take on the role and that those involved in the show were "proud to be a jewel in Yorkshire’s crown".
“Emmerdale celebrating 50 years is a huge achievement and to be the executive producer at such an exciting time is an honour,” Jane said, reflecting on the milestone. For five decades, Emmerdale has kept its audience entertained with incredible storylines and memorable characters.
