ITV Dancing On Ice fans ask how Corrie's Ryan Thomas knows Kimberly Wyatt as he supports Pussycat Doll

Dancing On Ice had another famous face in the audience as former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas cheered on two of the celeb skaters.

In Sunday night's show Ryan, who played builder Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap, was joined by his mum Gail as he supported his former co-star Sally Dynevor who is partnered with pro skater Matt Evers.

Sally, who faced elimination in a skate-off with The Happy Mondays dancer Bez, has previously been supported by Brooke Vincent and Helen Flanagan who plays her on-screen daughters Sophie and Rosie Webster.

Viewers were surprised when he told host Holly Willoughby that he was backing American dancer and singer Kimberly, a member of the girlgroup Pussycat Dolls who have had worldwide success with the singles Don't Cha, Stickwitu and Buttons.

@SaraFlay took to Twitter to ask: "Are we all wondering how Ryan Thomas knows Kimberly Wyatt?"

@gembob86 replied: "Yep. Came to Twitter hoping to find the answer."

Ryan, who played Jason in Corrie from 2000 to 2015, walked from Buckingham Palace, making his way back to Manchester on foot.
