ITV Corrie fans are left divided over 'train wreck' Abi following heartbreaking decision

Coronation Street fans were left divided as wayward character Abi Franklin suffered a new devastating blow. Drug addict Abi recently relapsed while grieving over the death of her son Seb who was brutally murdered last year.

Following Seb's murder trial, Abi, played by Sally Carman, had a fling with solicitor Imran Habeeb. And she accidentally spilled the beans about her cheating to husband Kevin Webster when her phone conversation with best pal Sally Metcalfe was played out over his camper van Bluetooth.

Kevin is still unaware that her affair was with Imran, but he kicked Abi out over her infidelity. And there was a twist when it turned out she was pregnant and she went into labour while still high on drugs with her dealer.

She then abandoned her premature baby in hospital and hit the bottle again. But she vowed to clean up her act when she was told that he needed a life-saving operation.

Abi, whose twins Charlie and Lexie were taken into care and adopted after she suffered an overdose in 2017, vowed to change her ways to keep her son, who she has named Alfie. But her world came crashing down again at a court hearing when the local authority solicitor listed a host of reasons proving Abi to be an unfit mother, and a judge ruled that the baby should be taken into care.

The decision left Corrie viewers divided over 'train wreck' Abi.

@RyanGTweetsTV said on Twitter with heartbroken emojis: "Poor Abi she's been through so much - losing the twins then Seb and now she'll lose Alfie."

@ChrissyPanda90 tweeted: "I just want to put my arms through the screen and hug Abi."
