'It's something I haven't done in my career' - Kyle Walker relishing Man City challenge

Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker has revealed he's relishing the prospect of testing himself against Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, though he knows his side will need to be at their best if they're to remain on course to lift three trophies this season.

Walker was named in Pep Guardiola's starting XI as they returned to the top of the Premier League with a victory over Burnley on Saturday. Liverpool had leapfrogged the reigning champions earlier in the afternoon after their 2-0 win over Watford at Anfield.

Guardiola's men will now face both Liverpool and Atletico twice within the next fortnight, knowing a defeat in any of the upcoming clashes will have a serious impact on their hopes of securing a memorable treble. Not deterred by the monumental run of games ahead of him, Walker says he's excited to test himself against some top sides but knows every member of the City squad will need to be at their best if they're to prevail.

"You've got to use everybody, everyone's key and vital. The managers and the coaching staff put in the groundwork at the start of the season until now," Walker told BBC Radio 5 Live. "Everyone is important, you don't want someone falling by the wayside and not doing training right or sulking.

"It needs a team game to play this many games in this many days. With the importance of the games, everyone needs to be singing the same song and make sure morale's up and playing well. But it's exciting, it's something I haven't done in my career where you play this many games back-to-back against such good opponents.
