'It's not the answer!' - Man United fans fume after Newcastle loss as Erik ten Hag point made

Manchester United fans have rallied behind Erik ten Hag and rejected the notion of sacking the beleaguered manager.

The terrible start to the season continued on Wednesday as United fell to a second 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford in four days. It was Manchester City at the weekend and this time around Newcastle United were made to feel at home as they sauntered to a comfortable win.

Goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock ended United's defence of the Carabao Cup trophy, in a match where the home side had more captains on the night than shots on target. The defeat has further mounted the pressure on Ten Hag, with some even calling for the manager to be relieved of his duties.

The Dutchman's tactics, substitutions and signings have come in for heavy criticism as United continue to descend into chaos. However, some supporters have rushed to defend him.

Many have pointed to the promising progress that was made last season and suggested it's the woeful performances of the players that are letting him down. Most of all, however, blame has been laid at the feet of the Glazers.

Despite announcing they were potentially looking to sell the club nearly a year ago now, the Glazers' iron grip on United remains as tight as ever. The takeover process has dragged on and won't even result in the Glazers leaving the club at the end of it, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe only expected to buy an initial 25 per cent stake in the club.
