“It’s a very frustrating one” – Millwall fan pundit responds to significant blow to midfielder

Millwall are in familiar territory at this stage of the season, the play-offs are in their sights but the general consensus is that a lack of attacking firepower will hold them back on mounting a serious top six push.

The Lions showed their class in a 2-0 win over Coventry City on Tuesday evening, reducing the gap between them and sixth place to just six points, although with the form of some of the sides above them it is going to be a big ask for them to bulldoze their way into the chasing pack.

Luke Freeman was signed on loan from Sheffield United on transfer deadline day with the hope that he would add some dynamism and attacking guile in central midfield areas, but the 29-year-old has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

FLW’s Millwall fan pundit Ryan Loftus was disappointed to see the news about Freeman’s injury due to what he could have contributed for the Lions in the coming months.

Speaking to Football League World, Loftus said: “Luke Freeman is another name on the long list of injury problems Millwall have been having this season.

“But for a player who has just come in on loan, and only had 14 minutes of game time, it’s a very frustrating one for the Millwall fans and the Millwall staff alike.

“He looked like he might be that player to add a bit of creativity in the final third, a player that Millwall have lacked for a couple of seasons under Gary Rowett now.

“But with him out for the rest of the season, it looks like more of the same and more struggles for Millwall
